I (Emily
Ashton) have taken over the PHWT blog and shall endeavour to
keep you updated with all things Palmer Hargreaves.
We have had a few new
starters recently, so here is the low-down on PHWT’s new recruits:
Dominic Townsend joins our
digital team as a Developer. The name
Dominic comes from the Late Latin name ‘Dominicus’ derived from the word for ‘Lord’. Every day’s a school day.
Here’s a bit about Dominic:
1. I have been a pescetarian
for 10 years
2. I am a beekeeper with 3
colonies of bees, and a member of the BBKA
3. I have studied Media
Technology at Staffordshire
University
4. I like Guinness
5. I enjoy watching US crime
dramas (like CSI) on TV

Welcome to Tracy McDaid who joined
us in January as Operations Assistant. In
1939 Ian Fleming was put in charge of ‘Operation Goldeneye’ and was also the
mastermind behind ‘Operation Ruthless’. Please
note that Tracy’s
name is without an ‘e’; any additional vowels will not be tolerated.
Here are Tracy’s 5 facts:
1. MASSIVE Elvis fan – even
naming my dog after him
2. I have 3 tattoos although
not telling where
3. Originally from London
4. I have a toy boy
5. Once sat on Leslie
Crowther and Gary Wilmot’s knee (not at the same time)

Andy Day has joined our
Design team. In January 2007, the Saint
Andrew’s Day Bank Holiday was given royal compliance, making 30th
November a Bank Holiday in Scotland,
though instead of being a full public holiday, it's voluntary. It is said that Saint Andrew can best be
called upon to prevent gout and a stiff neck.
Here are Andy’s 5 facts:
1. I am full of useless
facts and information which I blurt out every now and then
2. Robin and I also used to
work together at Toys’R’Us
3. I collect Urban Vinyl
4. I hate comic sans
5. This is my first agency
job

Robin Hill also joined our Design
team at the beginning of January. According to a study by Mihaly
Csikszentmihalyi, creative people can be both humble and proud and
simultaneously introverted and extroverted.
Very conclusive.
Here’s a bit of info about
Robin:
Random: In 2006 I had tea
and fruit in a warehouse in London
with Vivienne Westwood, Jerry Hall and The Duchess of York. Sugar with that
Viv?
Obvious: I am from Coventry
but don’t have a Brummy accent. . . I think?
Busy: I like to be on the go all the time and when I’m not working
find it difficult to sit still for more than 10 minutes. Or is that whilst
working?
Interesting: In 2003 I ran the Nottingham
half marathon for the first time in 2hrs 6mins. OK I s’pose!
Nuisance: I like a good old joke and once did ‘The Office’ and set a colleague’s stapler in an orange rabbit shaped jelly. Yum!
